Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the updated Ertiga and XL6 MPVs on April 15 and 21 respectively. The company is working on several new models, which will be launched in the coming days. MSIL is also testing the 2022 Maruti Brezza and the CNG-powered Baleno sedan.
It is reported that Maruti will announce pricing for the 2022 Maruti Brezza and Baleno CNG in May 2022. The new Brezza will bring comprehensive design changes and an all-new cabin with features along with a new powertrain. On the other hand, the new Baleno will receive the 1.2L dualjet petrol with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
The new Brezza will feature a new exterior design; however, it will retain the overall square shape. It will also receive sheet metal changes and all-new body panels. In terms of styling, the SUV under 4 meters will have a new grille, a straighter nose, a new LED lighting system (LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and new LED taillights), a new tailgate and new alloys.
The subcompact SUV will come with several cutting-edge features such as a head-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger, six airbags, and a hill-hold assist feature. The SUV will also get a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as connected car functionality.
The new Brezza will feature a new 1.5-liter K15C Dualjet petrol engine with a mild-hybrid SHVS system. This engine is likely to produce nearly 115 hp, which is 10 hp more than the outgoing 1.5L engine. Instead of a 4-speed automatic, the new gasoline engine will be mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Maruti Suzuki has already announced the introduction of factory fitted CNG kits to its NEXA range. The company will soon present the new Baleno CNG, which has already been tested. It will be powered by the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with a marginal drop in power and torque. The CNG variant should show an efficiency of 25 km/kg. The CNG kit will be offered in several variants to target a wider range of buyers.
