Skoda will launch two products in India in 2022, including the Kodiaq facelift and the Slavia. The latter will arrive in showrooms next month, details of which can be viewed here. The Kodiaq facelift SUV will be offered in three variants, including Style, Sportline and L&K.
Skoda Auto India has now confirmed that the BS6 Kodiaq facelift will be launched in the country on January 10, 2022. The automaker started production of the updated SUV in December, and since then the brand has slowly revealed details, features , and model specifications, details of which are available here.
The new Skoda Kodiaq facelift will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI gasoline engine that will replace the outgoing model’s 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine which was discontinued before the BS6 took effect in April 2020. The new engine, which is mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, will produce 187 hp and 320 Nm of torque. A 4×4 system will also be offered.
In terms of design, the restyled Skoda Kodiaq will get a new fairing that includes the butterfly grille design with vertical slats and a chrome surround, a reworked front bumper, LED headlights, two-tone alloy rims, bar bars. silver roof, demand sensors for all four doors, dynamic indicators, electric tailgate with virtual pedal and Skoda lettering in the luggage compartment.
Inside, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq facelift will feature a panoramic sunroof, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, three-zone climate control, in a two-tone black and beige interior theme, and 12-way power front seats with heating and cooling functions. Once launched, the new Skoda Kodiaq will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.
